UbuntuVideoCast – Animated Titles with Openshot!

Share Button

I was kind of bugged for quiet some time that Openshot is available in Ubuntu repositories but you could not use the animated titles because Blender 2.5x was not yet in the repositories. I was dieing to try those and finally I thought that there must be someone out there who offers a Blender Package for Ubuntu in version 2.5x. Finally after some surfing on the internet I found a few articles that kind of solved that issue but were not so easy to install or to get it work but in the end I did found a couple of articles that actually easy to follow and it works right away. Follow the steps below:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cheleb/blender-svn && sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install blender

Those two lines will add a repository for the latest Blender version, at the time of the Article it was Blender 2.57 and install it. After you have done this and verified that blender is running okay execute the following three lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jonoomph/openshot-edge
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install openshot openshot-doc

Those will add also a repository for the latest Openshot version and the time of the Article was written it was Openshot 1.3.

I added a few Video Clips with the results of those animated Titles. In my next Youtube video I will show how to setup up a few of those Animated Titles.
Enjoy the Clips!
