Caching Proxy with Polipo

Do you manage a network where the Internet link is constantly exhausted? You might want to think about implementing a proxy server which will help with that if adding additional bandwidth is not an option. I am demonstrating how to install and perform an initial configuration on Polipo a caching proxy server. A caching proxy server helps to not download information again if its already been downloaded like picture, music, videos, software packages etc. which can be quiet large. Polipo is available in the Ubuntu repositories.

You can find documentation on the Ubuntu website or at the maintainers website. Polipo is very slim and quiet easy to configure and after initial configuration you can do additional tweaking with the webbrowser. All that will be demonstrated in the video clip below.
